Arnie is a 9lb bundle of chi-mix love! We are posting him as "special needs" because he tends to be shy around strangers at first. He is actually very easy to foster but comes with a few "instructions." Arnie should be in an adult home and when introduced to strangers, Arnie does best if he is initially ignored and allowed to warm up on his own time. He responds well to positive reinforcement by his people. In light of his shyness, his social interactions in places like dog parks and other busy areas should be limited until he becomes more secure. Arnie plays a little hard to get at first but when he warms up -- boy does he warm up! He is the most loving, cuddly, sweet, kissy little guy out there. If Arnie could spend the entire day in your lap, he would be as happy as a clam. He's a bright fellow and is great with other dogs and we think he would be fine with a cat. He is potty trained and dying for his very own person to love!
The shelters listed below regularly contact A Leg Up Rescue to assist them with the placement of dogs who are running out of time. If not adopted from the shelter, or placed within a rescue organization, they WILL face euthanasia! A Leg Up Rescue would like to liquidate each and every shelter, but it is just not possible. We are only able to take dogs as our limited space permits. Please click on the banners below to check these adorable dogs - big and small - at the shelters. They are URGENTLY awaiting loving homes. Please contact the shelters directly to inquire about a dog (or cat) you see available. If you adopt a dog from one of these shelters (or any other shelter), please feel free to let A Leg Up Rescue know, if we can be of any assistance as you welcome home your new pet. Thank you for making a difference.
