Scruffles has been adopted!
Her Story: Scruffles has quite the story to tell, but since she can't talk we'll relay the story as told by her microchip and the helpful shelter. A couple of years ago Scruffles was adopted from the shelter, but when the shelter called to remind them about renewing her license they claimed they had her put to sleep (for whatever reason, we don't know?). Scruffles must be part cat because in spite of being "put to sleep" by her adopters, she arrived at the shelter - two years later - and amazingly enough she was breathing and full of life!
Matted, dirty, and with stinky teeth, Scruffles sat at the shelter waiting for someone to come get her. The shelter knew no one was coming so they called A Leg Up Rescue. She rode from the shelter with one volunteer who reports she wiggled and rolled in the seat and was happy. Then Scruffles arrived at her foster care providers' house where she got a warm, soothing bath. She is pictured here post-bath. Her foster mom reports the bath was a long one because she had the biggest, ugliest mats on her belly. She has been shaved in an attempt to relieve her of the horrible mats that almost prevented her from moving normally.
Now, what does Scruffles want in her new home? She would love someone to be dedicated to her for the rest of her life. She is playful, energetic, and lovingly greets everyone she meets. She loves to snuggle and go for walks. She gets along well with her foster friends (who are cats and small dogs) but she doesn't have to have another dog in the family to be happy. Scruffles hasn't had any accidents in her foster home and appears to be house trained (her new caregivers will need to monitor her and keep her on schedule, of course).
