Mia has been adopted and is now enjoying life in Marin County.
Here's her story:
Laying on her side, getting a belly rub - that's how Mia likes to end her day. She is an adorable Chihuahua mix who weighs about 9 pounds and is almost two years old. She loves to play with other dogs, is great with people, and loves to snuggle into blankets like a typical Chihuahua. She also loves walks, but her new guardian must keep her onleash or in an enclosed area (like a yard or dog park) because Mia is deaf. Please don't let that hinder you from considering her for adoption. It is not as difficult to live with a deaf dog as one might think - Mia already knows many hand signs and is responding well to training. We will assist her new guardians with training and getting her settled into her new home. For more information about living with a deaf dog, please visit www.deafdogs.org or www.deafk9.com - both have stories from people who have deaf dogs and wouldn't have it any other way.
Additionally, Mia is in URGENT need of a foster home. Her current foster care provider has travel plans that will conflict with Mia staying there, so if you are able to foster Mia, please contact info@aLegUpRescue.org.
