Bentley is a 3 1/2 year old male Papillon who weighs about 12 pounds. He was surrendered by his owner for excessive barking, which they didn't know how to control. Since he has been at his foster home, his barking has decreased by 75%. Bentley is very smart and eager to please. He has learned the command “quiet.” He is housebroken and comes when called - unless there is another dog close to the back fence. Then he will stay out to bark at the interloper. Bentley also knows “sit,” “down,” “leave it,” “stay,” and “wait” (to allow you to go through a door first and give him the okay to follow).
Bentley is very sweet and develops a strong bond with his people. He gets along well with children and other dogs. He has tiny Chihuahua friends with whom he plays very gently and a dainty Papillon foster brother whom he lets think that he is the alpha. He has had no experience with cats.
His fur is luxurious and not prone to tangling, so he is a pleasure to pet and easy to groom. Bentley loves taking long walks. He is not a hyper dog, so if he doesn’t get a walk, he is content to get his exercise playing with his Papillon foster brother. He loves sleeping on his foster mom's bed, and he responds very well to positive reinforcement. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bentley, please fill out the adoption application.
